let's try this again...

This morning I had just finished writing that I hoped the ice didn't take out the power lines, when...yep, you guessed it, the ice took out the power lines. We didn't really get socked that badly. Nothing like all the poor folks out in the midwest. We only got 1/4+". It was enough to take down trees and power lines in some areas. But we weren't really even all that inconvienced, since we didn't have to go anywhere or anything. (Actually, Rich might disagree with that since he had to keep bailing water since the sump pump wasn't running.) It was a short-lived blackout (as Max kept calling it) and we had our power back on a few hours later. I braved my way outside late this afternoon and tried to get a few pictures. I'm afraid I didn't do justice to the icy beauty, however.

That second picture is just GORGEOUS! I love the touch of red in it. I'm sorry you were without power. We are supposed to be getting some bad weather in the next few days. You know I can take just about anything weather wise in the winter but the loss of power! I'm a creature of technology and comfort LOL! I'm glad you are back up and running!

take care,
Dawn

So sorry about losing power. It stinks when it's cold. Those pictures are awesome though, especially the one with the red (berries?). Just gorgeous!!!
