creating update (week 9)

Just popping in super quick here to post my creative update (didn't want to be late 3 weeks in a row). Then I must be off to get back to work...I'm nowhere near done with all I had planned for the weekend. Will have to wait until tomorrow to catch up with everyone's blogs.

Anyway, not much to report. Cut mats for the photos on my current layout, but that's it. Worked a bit on Annie's scarf, but the progress isn't worth photographing. About all I have to show is my little set of drawers. Isn't really all that creative, I suppose, but it's my update, so I can post whatever I want, right?

I salvaged this little chest out of the trash over 10 years ago when we lived in Memphis. Always meant to paint the thing. Finally got around to it.

Before:

After:

Not all that spectacular, but I think it will look cute in my finished craft room. If my craft room ever gets finished, that is. I hated the original handles. Had some little knobs that would have looked really cute, but after scrounging around in Rich's screw bins for nearly half an hour, I couldn't find any screws that were the right size. So I tried something a little different...

I kind of like how it came out. It's a heck of lot better than it started out anyway.

And that concludes another lackluster creating update.

That is really cute. I like how you made the handles :) The color paint you chose is really pretty! I am an awful painter. I think I just rush to get it done! I'm really impressed!

take care,
Dawn

Hey! I'm impressed. I have some shelves I picked up at a yard sale more than 10 years ago. If you lived closer, I'd offer them up to you, or get your input on prettifying them for me. Problem is that i have no place to put them.

How cute! Love what you did with that! The color is so pretty and the ribbon handles are THE BEST! Super cute!

I love the chest! And I do think it's spectacular, with the cutest handles. Maybe you could come do some furniture painting for me?!!
Or give some detailed instructions on what you did....I have an old desk that I'm wondering if my college daughter would want but it's not in good shape. It might have too many nooks, crannies and curves though to do.

I really like that color ~ and I would never have thought to cover the handles (that is fabric, right?). LOVE IT!
