where does the time go?!!

I simply cannot believe that my little girl will be 10-years-old tomorrow! It doesn't seem possible.

I can so clearly remember life 10 years ago this evening. I was feeling utterly miserable. Physically, that is. I'd been on bed rest for 4 weeks. I'd been back in the hospital for 2 days. I had tubes and wires everywhere. I hadn't eaten or slept in those 2 days. I don't remember how many different medications I'd been given. I was on oxygen because my lungs had filled with fluid due to the magnesium sulfate I was on.

And yet, there was such a large part of me that was so excited! I knew that I was going to have my baby in my arms the next day! And then all of it would be worth it.

I've never been more right about anything in my life! Upon seeing that 5lb. 2oz. bundle of beautiful baby girl, nothing I'd been through mattered. Not one little bit!

And maybe the most miraculous part of all...the doctor who delivered Annie told us afterward that it was a blessing that my preeclampsia got so bad. She told us that the umbilical cord was wrapped around Annie's neck three times and in such a way that if she had been allowed to grow any bigger, she almost certainly would have died. Instead, she was born 5 weeks early and just as healthy and as beautiful as could be!

Fast forward 10 years, and I feel more blessed than ever that I get the privilege of being this wonderful child's mommy! And on that note, I shall sign off. I don't want to miss these last few hours of Annie as a 9-year-old!

She is so beautiful, Debi! She's got the most miraculous smile :-)

Sniffle, sniffle . . .

I can hardly believe my Hannah will be 8 in July. Time moves so quickly, doesn't it?

PS - Congrats to your pooch for passing! Hee hee! He's simply adorable. And I can't WAIT to see your craft room when it is complete. I am hoping to paint mine this summer, as it is located in the basement and so dark, cold, and dungeon-like. I am loathe to go down there, so I end up lugging everything all around the house (much to my husband's displeasure!).

I'm hoping to get Bridget into bed soon so I can SEW! I can hear her getting into my sewing box with all my thread and bobbins. Sigh. I wonder what sort of mess I'll discover??
