Wow. How did it get to be Thursday again already?!! Anyway, that means it's time for Booking Through Thursday. This week's question turns last week's on its head...
Imagine that everything is going just swimmingly. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and all’s right with the world. You’re practically bouncing from health and have money in your pocket. The kids are playing and laughing, the puppy is chewing in the cutest possible manner on an officially-sanctioned chew toy, and in between moments of laughter for pure joy, you pick up a book to read . . .
This is a little bit harder to answer than the opposite scenario. When I'm happy (which I am blessed enough to say is most of the time), I can read just about anything. One thing I can add is that I'm much more likely to reach outside my usual genres and try something new when I'm feeling especially content or happy or carefree. (As opposed to "down times" when I really just want the comfort of old friends.)

Exactly. I find this one a lot harder to answer, too--that's why I picked it for this week's question! I love seeing all the answers, especially to the "Hmmm" kinds of questions!
It took me a couple of false starts to answer this one, for just the same reason!
I'm with you...this was tough to answer!! Usually, given a book-related topic, I can blathering on for hours!
I got stumped for a while when I read the question, too!
I do agree though that you want the comfort of the familiar when you're a bit down, so your favorite book would be a given.
Happy BTT!
I think I would have a hard time picking an answer for that too, but I like yours! My reading and what I read depends on lots of things sometimes and how I feel at the moment!
I definitely feel more open to trying a new genre when the sun's out. Happy BTT!
I agree with you on this, Debi!
Me too! I read anything!
You are all making me thing I'm not adventurous enough. I shoukd try to widen my reading a bit, perhaps! But I do read some of the more difficult things on "ordinary" days.
I just realized I didn't get Max's bday gift out on time...let him know his birthday will be extended by a few days!
