Well, just as I secretly feared, the weekend break came and messed up our momentum. Both boys were as cranky and uncooperative as could be yesterday about going to school. But again, they both came home happy, so hopefully today will go more smoothly again. Yesterday was somewhat of an off day for Annie and I as well...didn't finish up nearly as much as was planned. But we'll get caught back up by week's end, I'm sure. Annie's taking a couple of classes tomorrow at one of the area YMCAs (they offer some neat classes for homeschoolers), so hopefully I can then get caught up a bit on some other odds and ends.
Rich, a.k.a. the sweetest guy on earth, insisted I take a break and scrapbook a little on Sunday. So I managed to finish up a layout that had been sitting on my table 90% complete for the last few weeks.
Plus I cranked out an additional layout. The R.I.P. II Challenge has really put me in a Halloween-y kind of mood lately, so I dug out the first Halloween pics I could find. Unfortunately, they provide proof of what bad parents we are...we never seem to get around to carving our pumpkins until Halloween day, at which point it becomes a very rushed affair.
But other than that, I did nothing else of the crafty variety this past week. I'd better just give up on the idea of getting any Christmas gifts made. Sigh.

It's all in the art or craft you pursue. While it's hard for me to work on a quilt (except for hand-sewing the binding) while watching TV, I can knit.
And I know all about that cut the pumpkin on Halloween thing. We've actually carved them in November here!
Cute layouts! How did you do the title on the bottom layout, along the right side? Stamps, letter stickers? Inquiring minds want to know :)
Hope you guys all get more into the swing of things today. Have a great day!
I'm going to have to get crafty soon in a hurry. I have to baby gifts to complete for two babies who will be done baking very soon! My box of goodies arrived today so I know what I will be busy doing with my hands while I'm watching my baseball & football games!
I hope today was a better day for the boys!
Good for you getting a layout done. I can't remember the last time I've done that for myself.
Sometimes I wait until the day before Halloween to get my pumpkins carved :) I don't like sticking a candle into the gooey innards of a pumpkin that I've cut too early LOL!
take care,
Dawn
I hope your boys enjoy school today, Debi! The same goes to my daughter when the playgroup started on Monday (after a week's break last week) and the teachers claimed some kids cried, considering they have been there for months, LOL.
The layouts are nice!!! And I think you've done a great job in carving those pumpkins! I've butter fingers...and if I've the chance to do so, I'm sure no one will recognize the pumpkin! LOL.
We don't carve our pumpkins until Halloween afternoon here. It's a tradition. :o)
Hope the boys had an easier time as this week's passed by. Weekends can throw everyone off sometimes.
Yesterday was the first day that went smoothly around here. It's about time. I think I have it figured out. If today goes well, I'll be happy!!
