failing miserably, and taking a break

My goals for this week's Weekly Geeks certainly didn't sound all that difficult to attain, and yet at this point I think I'm going to have concede defeat. I'm still nowhere near being caught up on my blog reading : (

And I still need to write a review for We Have Always Lived in the Castle.

And I just don't think I'm going to get either done today.

It's just been one of those especially busy weeks with Max's birthday and trying to finish up the first quarter of school and writing Annie's first quarter report. (The report that I spend waaaaay more time than necessary writing each quarter. Seriously, with the exception of dealing with kid issues, that is all I did yesterday. Why I stress myself so about the damn thing, I'll never know. Okay, that's not exactly true...I guess I do sort of know...it's just my obsessive personality.)

Okay Debi, stop babbling and get to the point already, would you?!!

Point? I'm supposed to have a point?

Sorry, I do think I'm nearing lunacy here.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say that I'm going to be absent from the blogging world for the next week and a half. I just really, really, really need to focus on getting prepared for Annie's next school quarter. Just one of those times in life when I feel like I'm just drowning. I'm sure you all know what I mean. And as much of a stress reliever as blogging is, it's also a bit time suck. :D

Whew...but just think what old google reader will have in store for me on my return...

Boy do I understand being busy and out of your mind! Take your time coming back and when you do, check out the award I left you! :-)

You'll be missed, but you gotta do - what you gotta do! I hope you feel all caught up and refreshed when you are ready to return. And as for the Google Reader - I think that could cause a major stress attack after a week or so away. Close your eyes and delete. :) We will all understand.

Hey, Debi! Not that you need more pressure to be blogging, but I wonder if the weekly homeschool update posts you used to do helped with the quarterly reports. Would going back to doing an update each week help the quarterly report to write itself? Just trying to be helpful here, not cause you more stress. Hang in there, dear! We love you!

I hope you are able to get caught up with everything--we will certainly miss you. I've been re-evaluating my time lately and have realized that I've been neglecting life in order to hop around on blogs (which I love doing, but I love spending time with my husband more and I haven't been doing that the past month or so). I think I might be taking a little bit of a break until I can figure out how to balance everything so that I have my time and we have our time. Grrr! :)

Have a great week and a half, Debi.

We'll miss you, Debi! But sometimes a little time off really is necessary. Don't worry about your reader and don't feel guilty if you have to mark it all as read when you come back. If you miss anything terribly important we'll let you know :P

Have a great week and a half!

Enjoy your blog-cation! I might have to take one next week, since I've been sick all of this week and that means lots of catchup work.

Like Joy, I say just mark them all read in your Google Reader when you get back!

Sometimes a little break from blogging is well needed! I just hope you're not gone as long as I seem to be gone these days! You see, it could always be worse :p You could be as blogger absent as I am!

I'll be here for sure when you get back...hope you can relax a little during your time away!

I can relate. I didn't even get around to *writing* a catch-up list. I thought about it. At first I was under the impression that there wasn't any catching up to be done. Then I realized . . . and went to bed. Oh, no, that was due to illness. Well, anyway, stuff happens. We'll be here when you return! Take care. :)

"A bit of a time suck" to say the least! I'll look forward to your return, all the same. ;)

I so understand what you mean. I get that feeling a lot, especially during the school year and then I don't know how to get out of the depths of despair LOL!

Take all the time you need, and forget the blogging pressure.

take care,
Dawn
