on today's agenda

After an invigorating snowball fight waiting for the school bus (a fight in which the boys showed their poor old mom no mercy, I might add), I guess it's time to get back to work. On slate for today:

household crap:
*the daily
*vacuum
*sweep kitchen
*3 loads laundry
*menu/grocery list

reading:
*This Our Dark Country by Catherine Reef (for school)--read about half of it
*Global Studies: Africa, pp. 234-237 (for school)
*Africa: A Biography of the Continent by John Reader, chaps. 5-10 (for school)
*The Civil War by Geoffrey C. Ward, pp. 356-383 (for school)
*"The Doctor's Case" by Stephen King (for school)
*"Word Processor of the Gods" by Stephen King (for school)
*"The Man Who Would Not Shake Hands" by Stephen King (for school)
*Coping In A Changing World: HIV/AIDS by Paula Johanson (for school)
*In The Land of Invisible Women by Qanta A. Ahmed, chaps. 4-6 (for review)
*finish Fables: Legends in Exile by Bill Willingham (for pure fun)
*catch up on blogs--almost made it

miscellaneous:
*haul science magazines to library
*wrap Christmas gifts that are going with us at Thanksgiving
*finish Christmas album base

Will I finish all that? Not a chance! But you've got to love a day that so heavy in reading, don't you?!!

Cool! You might get a box of Christmas presents today as well. I wanted to have them there when you put your tree up.

Jean,
Wow, you're certainly on the ball, aren't you?!! I've got to admit, we're somewhat afraid to see what happens when we put up the tree this year...Lucky's *that* kind of cat.

Boy you sound so busy. I would be afraid some days to make a list. They seem to get longer and longer when I start doing that!

I hope you get much accomplished.

take care,

You're right on the top category, all of that household stuff is crap, just crap :) I would much rather spend time reading, but I haven't been able to do much of that lately.

And Christmas, I haven't bought the first thing. You've already gotten stuff bought and wrapped? Good golly, you're on the ball!!!

Have a great day!

Good lord Debi! You do realize that a day is only 24 hours long, right? ;) I think I'd have a panic attack with a to do list like that, lol!

lol, I have to echo Chris' words :P

Reading days really are the best, though. And yay, you started Fables :D

Yo, Debi! Doesn't taking the science mags to the library help with one of your 50? Did you count the mags before you took them to see whether there were 50? As for the tree, good luck! We've never had the whole tree taken down by a cat or the dog, but we have lost an ornament here and there. Just look at it this way: It would make for a very memorable holiday that you would (someday) have a grand laugh over.

Jean,
Wrong library...I just meant hauling all the bags and boxes of Rich's science mags from the basement to our "home-library-to-be".
And we already had a tree taken down by a cat. Two hours before our Christmas party, with chocolate raspberry brownies that still to be glazed, homemade rolls to be baked, and meatballs to be rolled and stuffed, Aldo, our supposedly mellow cat took the tree right out. And yes, she's still alive.

How do you only have 3 loads of laundry with five people in your house? I only have three people in my house, and yet we always make dirty laundry faster than I can do it, even though I feel like I'm doing it constantly.

Stephen King for school?? Gotta love it!!

I love being able to check things off a list!

Well, it looks like you got a lot of household "crap" and miscellany off the list anyway. This week hasn't been particularly productive in terms of reading/blogging for me either.
