good stuff...

*Being pleasantly surprised by a book. I was sort of dreading picking up Jane Eyre. But I chose it as Annie's first read for our new literature unit, so I had to dive in eventually. And yes, I admit that I've only so far read the first five pages...but I discovered that I actually enjoyed it! Here's to the next 400+ pages being equally enjoyable!

*Yesterday was a truly glorious spring day here! A high of 56 degrees and nothing but sunshine all day! Yes, it is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow, but that's okay. Just makes days like yesterday all the celebrate-able, right?

*Chris's heartwarming post.

*Seeing four species of salamanders on our nighttime hike.

*Hearing the excitement in Mom's voice when she was telling me about their upcoming trip.

*Knowing I shall conquer the dirty clothes mountain today.

*The video that Renay has at her Herding Cats Challenge site. The boys have made me play it at least a dozen times, and we all still laugh every time.

Jane Eyre is so so so so good! I was dreading it, because I really disliked Wuthering Heights and I thought the two sisters might write alike, but it was not at all the same. For Christmas, my husband got me an illustrated version, illustrated by Dame Darcy, which is gorgeous, and as soon as I've done with all my challenges, I'm going to dive into it and reread.

Jane Eyre is one of the best! I've read it three times, and I rarely reread books. I hope you enjoy the rest!

I am so glad you are enjoying Jane Eyre. Hopefully you will continue to do so. It's one of my favorite books.

I am glad you are seeing some spring weather at last. Hopefully the snow will pass quickly if it comes tonight and tomorrow like planned.

Your list made me smile, Debi.

I hold my hand up too - I have always avoided Jane Eyre - I shall see how much you like it by the end to see whether I venture into such dangerous territory! If you ever conquer your dirty clothes mountain, can you pop over and conquer mine. I am going for the Mount Kilimanjaro look!

I just LOVE Jane Eyre. I thought I wouldn't like it. As one of your commenters said, I thought it might be like Wuthering Heights.

And I love the Herding Cats video :)

I will be curious to hear how you like Jane Eyre in the end...looks like there are a lot of fans of it commenting on your post. I may have to get around to finally reading it, too!

I will try to get some pics of the b'day boy posted. It seems like by the time I get around to getting the pictures on the computer it is so far past the event it seems crazy to post them!

You only hear about the things I accomplish that I have set my mind to...Aaron will tell you there are MANY more thigns I never get around to at all!

I always assumed I would not like Jane Eyre, but after reading The Thirteenth Tale and seeing how much the author referenced it and made an homage to it I decided that someday I need to dive in and check it out because it is no doubt a wonderful book.

I'm so glad you're loving Jane Eyre! I love the feeling of being surprised at how readable a classic is. I'm always so scared of them!

A new funny video? I'm definitely on my way to check it out.
