mini-challenge break

Jessica at The Bluestocking Society is hosting a mini-challenge asking us about rereading.

In general, I do little rereading. Which, in a way, makes me sad. 'Cause there really are oodles of books I'd love to reread. But I think I'm always daunted by the size of the piles of books I haven't even read a first time.

There are two books that I've read multiple times though.

I seriously wish that my sleep-craving mind could think of some kind of good reason why these are the two books that I have spent more time with in my life than any others, but I just can't. Nothing that makes me sound the slightest bit sane anyway. Sheesh...sometimes I wish I were more classy, and I could eloquently explain why I've felt the need to read War and Peace twenty-four times. But I am neither classy nor eloquent, and I haven't read War and Peace for the first time yet, let alone the 24th.

I'm with you. I rarely reread something...too much new stuff that tempts me ;)

Keep reading...we're past the hump and heading into the last couple of hours!

When I was a teenager babysitting they had the book Helter Skelter and I picked it up to read and was scared out of my mind!

Now that would be a good one for me during the read-a-thon--would scare the crud out of me and I WOULDN'T be able to sleep. I don't do scary.

The idea of reading War and Peace 24 times is terrifying to me! I dont know that I could get through it once, haha!

I do have to say that choosing those two books to re-read and re-read does make you look a bit twisted. LOL.

I thought The Stand was a great book - but it's so long I doubt I'll ever re-read it.

I haven't read War and Peace either :/ I've always wanted to read Helter Skelter though! I've told you before I'm a big true crime fan and that's like the ultimate story!

The kind of class you are referring to is overrated! ;)

I love rereading and used to do much more of it than I do now. I rarely give in to that pleasure in comparison to the way my reading habits used to be. But once in awhile I just have to visit old friends.

Hope you are doing okay in these wee hours! I'm pooped!

Thanks for participating in my mini-challenge. Too often now, my rereads lose out to the books I haven't read. I really enjoyed The Stand. Happy resting today.
