new neighbors

Housing starts appear to be up in our neighborhood. Pictured here is one of four new homes currently under construction in the highly desirable "shed eves" area.

While I applaud their industriousness, I do wish they'd checked zoning laws. I'm fairly certain that area has been zoned as "laundry hanging."

Fabulous photo - I see they have squatters rights.

Will you be serving an eviction notice on them, or does Rich the biologist believe in letting them stay? I'd vote for evicting them. By the way, I mailed a somewhat large package to you today with trip goodies for all the human members of your family as well as Annie's belated birthday present (it's something I picked up on the trip, too). Enjoy!

SNORT. I laughed my socks off. Now my feet are cold, but only because the A/C is going great guns.

You can even see the eggs inside the cells of the nest. Great picture. Now, rather than going out back and looking, I'll be expecting update photos each week so we can see how the hive is doing.

We had the same tenants last fall... Only they were in the house. They were evicted... quickly! I am not sure about the reproduction, but I am very much hoping that it was not successful! They made the nest in an area that you can't really get to, so the nest is still there...

Great pic, Debi!

That was funny! You are a really great writer - I'd have never thought of something clever like that about our new neighbors! Who, by the way, were promptly evicted!

Um, is it just the perspective or is THAT THING HUGE?!?! I would be getting out the biggest spay can of RAID ever for that. Or I'd call that guy with the awesome hair from New Orleans on that A&E show.
