Annie and I somehow got on the subject of reading and TV watching. We agreed that although we enjoy reading and TV viewing, if forced to choose between the two, without question we'd say goodbye to the TV. I would probably miss TV more than Annie (she watches next to none as it is), but I would still find it easier to get rid of the old boob-tube than to give up books.
Just curious...
...which would you give up if forced to choose?

Most definitely, without a doubt or a backward glance, TV. I abhor TV, truly. I like some of the series (24, Lost, Alias) but only watch them on DVD. Of course, this means I'm seasons behind everyone else, but that's okay - anything to avoid commercials! Arrgh!

Hmmm, I actually would have to say TV. I know, I know how awful. I use my TV for background noise all the time. I don't like quite! I would miss that.

OK, I can't pick. Don't even try to make me! I love both, for totally different, yet some of the same, reasons. I am a total TV-aholic and thankfully, I don't think I'll ever have to give it up. I also love to read and do it every chance I get. But I MUST have both, LOL!
