a wonderful book
I just finished up Bridge to Terabithia. I'm not even going to write a review really. But I will say that I absolutely loved the book! Despite the fact that Annie read the book, and Rich and Annie saw the movie, I didn't really know anything about the story. And I have to say those last few chapters caught me totally off-guard. I couldn't stop the tears from rolling. I tried to hold them back, but it just made my throat hurt in that way it does when I try to "not cry". I think the tears were not only about the book though. I think that they were for Nattie and her family as well. I couldn't help but think of Nattie as I read this book, as it was Nattie's Newbery Challenge that made me pick it up in the first place. I hope her family is coping as well as can be expected. The posts her "daddy" wrote on her blog while she was in the hospital were so tender and full of love.

I have been wanting to rent the movie - I may have to read the book, too.
The UMKC job is not tenure track but is not temporary either, I don't think. It is probably between 30 and 45 minutes in - a much longer commute than he currently has, but it would be a huge pay cut if he stays at KU to do the museum job. Of course then he could still do his research and spend a lot of time writing. We'll see...
It is a family reunion/90th bday party for my Grandpa in Chicago. He is so mentally gone (Alzheimer's we are all pretty sure, but they won't say) I don't know how it will go. The trip should be nice, though. We are all going a couple of days early so we can actually see some things in Chicago (except the American Girl show, evidently!)
I'll probably blog about my appt tomorrow after I find out what goes on today...
I have almost bought that book several times and each time I walk away. I think maybe next time I will take your comments into consideration.

I just noticed something funny... my real name is deborah ann... and in school they always called me deborah off the rolls when my family had always called me annie, well, I opted for Debi ... so my two names have always been Debi or Annie. Just thought it was interesting.
I think I might have read this book way back when, in college maybe for my children's lit class but I don't remember much of it. Been thinking I should read it again and have resisted getting the movie til I do.

I after to eradicate the windows xp because it runs slows on the laptop because it takes up more tribute than the windows Me would. Also I need to unseat windows xp because it is an forbidden copy.
