playing...

Well, according my self-imposed blogging schedule, this is the day to post about creative endeavors. I'm afraid that this is generally going to mean I just don't post on Tuesdays, as there just seems to be so little time for creating anything lately. It feels like as there is time for is school prep. Endless school prep.

Anyway, this is a layout I did a few weeks back. I just love working with pictures from the munchkins' baby and toddler days...so fun reliving that time, if just for a few minutes in my mind.

And here's a glimpse at my "wishful thinking" creativity. I really wish an ounce of photographic talent in me...but what the heck, I have fun doing it and that's what truly matters, right?

You think you have no photographic talent?!?!? If you took the photos you posted, then you certainly do. My favorites are the moon over the plant (a pine tree, I think), and the curly green one. I'm not exactly sure what that one is, but that's part of the fun.

And as for creativity, I would say that the lessons you plan for Annie qualify as creativity. If you have no layouts, knitting, or other similar work to post on Tuesday, feel free to tell us about what you have planned for Annie. That should certainly qualify.

Your pictures are just fabulous. WOW I am impressed!!! I like looking back on Timmy's older pictures. I miss my little boy sometimes :) It does make me smile to look at them though. Wait until you start looking at photos of your grand-kids LOL!!

Please! What makes you think you don't have any photographic talent?! You composed your photos beautifully. Even the best photographers will have oodles of photos that they toss out. Rule of thumb is that you will get one good one out of every ten you take. And of the good ones, one in ten you will classify as *great* and exactly the way you wanted it to come out. Photography is all about playing. Learning what your camera can do. Learning what lighting works best. Playing with angles, perspective, zoom. Crouch down & shoot looking up. Stand on something & shoot looking down. Lay on your stomach & shoot parallel to the ground. Tilt the camera slightly - or more than slightly! Zoom way in. Stand far away. Frame your subject. Shoot your subject off center. Find someone's photos you admire and let them imspire you. The best way I "practice" is to take one stationary subject and try to photograph it ten, fifteen, twenty different ways. Give yourself creative license to do anything. with digital, it's not even costing you! Just delete what you don't like! If you even knew how many photos I take that don't "make the cut." I will take sometimes 300 photos in one visit to WDW and only keep about 20!

DO NOT SELL YOURSELF SHORT. =)
