for the love of Christmas

Saw this little quizzie thing over at Melody's this morning. I don't usually actually post these things, but this one was just so dead-on. Well, all except that last line...I DO still believe in Santa Claus!

What The Holidays Mean to You

For you, the holidays are about emotional connections and bonds. You are happiest being around those you love.

You celebrate the holidays in an over the top style. If something is cute, you'll buy it. People end up with a lot of gifts from you - and your house is like a holiday wonderland, full of decorations.

During the holidays, you like to feel cozy and comfortable. You're happy to stay inside with a roaring fire and a warm drink.

You think the holidays should be decadent and indulgent. You never mind gaining a few holiday pounds... it's worth it!

Your best holiday memories are of childhood foods and traditions. You secretly still wish you believed in Santa Claus.

I got this: "For you, the holidays are about generosity. You give as much as you possibly can to friends, family, and charity.

You celebrate the holidays in an over the top style. If something is cute, you'll buy it. People end up with a lot of gifts from you - and your house is like a holiday wonderland, full of decorations.

During the holidays, you feel magical. You love all of the decorations and how happy people are. You like to sit back and take it all in.

You think the holidays should be nostalgic and sweet. The holidays bring out your inner child.

Your best holiday memories are of childhood foods and traditions. You secretly still wish you believed in Santa Claus."

...which is pretty accurate too. Very nice quiz, thanks for sharing!

Here's what I got: "For you, the holidays are about celebration. You enjoy all the fun and fellowship that the holidays bring.

"You celebrate the holidays in a minimalist style. You are likely to only give one great present and decorate your house with a few special items.

"During the holidays, you like to feel cozy and comfortable. You're happy to stay inside with a roaring fire and a warm drink.

"You think the holidays should be energetic and packed with activities. You'll double up on caffeine and sugar if that's what it takes to get you through them.

"Your best holiday memories are warm and intimate. You remember special moments more than gifts or parties."

That's pretty right on except for the penultimate paragraph that came because I checked pumpkin spice latte on the favorite holiday drink question.

And, Debi, of course Santa Claus exists. In this house, if you don't believe in Santa Claus, he doesn't leave you any gifts.

Here's what I got:

For you, the holidays are a very spiritual time. You have as much holiday fun as everyone else - but you never forget what you're celebrating.

You celebrate the holidays in a offbeat style. You believe the holidays are for doing whatever you feel like - and some of your "traditions" are pretty wacky.

During the holidays, you feel magical. You love all of the decorations and how happy people are. You like to sit back and take it all in.

You think the holidays should be comforting and relaxing. You don't like the holiday rush... you just like the simple pleasure of the holidays.

Your favorite holiday memories strongly evoke your senses. You are vividly aware of all the tastes, smells, and sounds of the holidays.

I got the same one you did!! To be honest, I'm not really in the holiday spirit this year. I really need to work on that. If only for the kids' sake.

Gotta go dig out my tree now!!

Thanks for playing, Debi! It's nice reading yours. :D Although I'm looking forward to Christmas, I haven't go shopping yet!

I got the same one as Jean, and it couldn't be more off in several of the statements. I am certainly not minimalist. My outdoors leans more towards Griswold than Scrooge. And the 'one great present' idea can be true, but it really isn't accurate. It was fun, but I have more in common with the other answers than the one I got.

Carl--

I wish I could drive by your house...nothing makes me smile quite so much as Griswold house! Driving around looking at Christmas decorations is one of very favorite things to do during that week before Christmas!
