a word (or two) of thanks

Want a sure-fire way to put a smile on a parent's face? Just say nice things about their kid. So imagine the smile on my face when I read this.

I "met" Melissa through this wonderful world of blogging. I've come to think of her as a good friend, though we've never actually laid eyes on one another. We actually have a lot in common...we're both mothers of three, living in upstate NY, hanging our laundry out to dry because we worry about the environment. Of course, she's younger, prettier, and much more talented. It's been very fun watching her writing career take off. And it makes me very happy for her, because she really is a gifted writer! As well as a very nice person!

And of course, my face was not the only one sporting a smile this morning. I'm sure you can imagine Annie's face when she read such nice things said about her, by someone other than her dumb old parents.

Thank you, Melissa!

That was great to read and I love the picture of Annie there, so fun! I made sure to leave my two cents. You should be proud mom! And dad!

Annie is an inspiration to not only kids, but to adults, as well. She certainly puts me to shame!

I'm so happy to have blogging as public forum in which to "highlight" people who truly deserve it. Annie is an amazing girl!

As far as being "prettier" and "much more talented," than you, that's just nonsense. ;-)

Tell Annie that when I reported to an online group of quilters about my NaNo adventure and included mention of Annie's accomplishments, several ladies there said to pass on their congratulations and expressions of amazement. I'm with Carl, too, that it was a great photo.

You have ever right to be proud!! That's one special kid, you've got there! I still can't believe she's only 10. Man. I can't wait to see her in print someday!

Isn't that the sweetest thing, but very well deserved! Annie is a remarkable young lady (love that photo of her!) and I love seeing this written about her. She obviously has some awesome parents, or how else would she get to be such a great kid?! Kudos to Melissa for the entry, and kudos to Annie for all that she does to merit such a great blog post :) Happy Reading to all!
