no points?!!

Can you believe it? A whole week went by with no points to award...unfathomable!

But that's not to say no books made their way into our happy home...

I received a review copy of Don't Know Where Don't Know When by Annette Laing, which I'm really excited to read with the kids.

I received The Sugar Queen, by Sarah Addison Allen from Brenda. Simply because she's an extremely sweet person, and generously passed it on to me. I'm so anxious to read it, and am thinking of substituting it in for Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (which I still want to read someday, but haven't been in the mood to start lately) in the Southern Reading Challenge.

And last, but certainly not least...I received The Book of Ballads, which I won from Chris. I'm having a hard time not cracking it open, but am trying very hard to save for the Read-a-thon next weekend!

Thanks again, Chris and Brenda! You both are too sweet!

Oh, and don't worry...next week there will be points to award...we have an order out to Amazon.

One day you must read Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. The characters in the book (yes, nonfiction, I know!) are fantastic--I don't think I realized it was nonfiction until after I had finished with it.

I'm reading The Sugar Queen, too! It was on a whim that I picked it up but I'm substituting it out for something else, too. I'm doing far better reading for The Southern Reading Challenge than any other challenge....and somehow managed to fit all sorts of Southern Fiction into my other challenges, too :P

OK....I know nothing about the Sugar Queen, but Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil is one of my favorite books! The people of Savannah are just so strange and interesting!! So, if you do substitute, you definitely need to read it sometime.

And the sentence diagramming book should show up soon. My friend Janet said she mailed it to you late this past week. She got distracted by spring orienteering events and didn't start it for a while. Once she did start, it was a quick read. Hope you like it!

I'm reading "The Sugar Queen" right now! I just got it, and also her first book, "Garden Spells" on a recent library trip. I really like it so far (and I really enjoyed Garden Spells), they are very light and charming. "Enchanting" is a word I would probably use. Hope you read it and enjoy it :)
