consumed with guilt

Okay, that may be overstating it a bit, but I did just do something that has left me feeling kinda bad...I went and marked everything in my google reader as read. I was stressing so much about catching up, that I just decided, "To hell with it. I'll just start over."

And now that I've got all this free time on my hands (ha!), I think I'll go sign up for a couple more reading challenges. Someone really needs to just shoot me and put me out of my misery. Rich won't do it...he likes my homemade spaghetti sauce too much to live without me.

Oh Debi, Debi! I so want to do this! I've been trying to play catch up for weeks and am also consumed with guilt that I haven't visited a lot of people in a really long time. Can I be so brave as well? So, so tempting!

Hey, you've gotta do what you've gotta do! I wouldn't feel guilty - it's no fun to feel so far behind! I have been tempted to that more than once, but just couldn't hit that stupid button! Though now that I have a faster computer, everything goes quicker anyway, so I haven't felt as behind lately.
Don't feel guilty...it will take away from the starting fresh feeling!

I did the same exact thing last week. Then the next day, my reader was full again!I ended up deleting a ton of blogs - the infrequently read ones and the ones I can't figure out why they're in my Google Reader to begin with :P

LOL I really did laugh out loud. Probably because I know exactly how you're feeling! I literally just started weeding out blogs yesterday. Everybody has to do what's best for them. Let it go! :)

Ah, don't feel bad. Sometimes we all have to just wipe the slate clean and reboot.

Don't feel bad!

But I did want to let you know I'm hosting a giveaway that ends tomorrow. Didn't want you to miss out if there are any you might want a chance at!

I've never heard of a google reader so I had to google it LOL!

I know how you feel. That's just how I get when I'm caught up with work and life. I feel that it's so hard to catch up that I just stay away.

I think a clean slate is a WONDERFUL idea.

take care,
Dawn

You shouldn't feel guilty and I wish I could take a cue from you!! On my last post I said I was going to do the same but I just can't!! I guess it is the fear of missing out on something. :)

Any good challenges you are joining? I just joined the Japanese Lit challenge against my better judgment.

You should feel no guilt....except for joining more challenges!! And that's just because you are going to tempt me!! Remind me not to join any 12-Step programs with you!!

Don't feel guilty, Debi! I have the feeling I'll be doing the same many times this summer. I like being able to keep up, but sometimes we have to think of our sanity, right?

Sometimes this is just something you've got to do. Honestly when I get so behind that I feel like all I'm ever doing is rushing through people's posts just to catch up, I'm missing the spirit of things because I'm usually not bothering to comment or leave any sign that I've even been around (or even, at the very least - just *enjoying* reading what people have written) which just about defeats the purpose! So good for you for knowing your limits (well, at least in one respect). ;-)

And speaking of shooting people (and uh, knowing ones limits), I'm desperately in need of someone to shoot me before I go and acquire any more books (she says from beneath a toppled mountain of heavy books). I'm going to have to quit my job and become a hermit if I'm ever going to finish all these books in my lifetime....

You can't feel bad Debi! It happens to everyone I think...I might have to do the same with my google reader soon. I had Katelyn last week for about 3 days; today I picked up her AND Sam so my daughter can get unpacked. So I'll be busy and might have to mark mine read too!

Every time I get almost caught up in my Reader, something happens to get me right back up there again. Part of me wants to mark everyone read but... my inner 2 year old is afraid I will miss something. LOL
