in our neck of the woods...

*We're enjoying an absolutely glorious Indian summer.

*College football is treating us mighty fine this season. I know it only leads to heartache to get one's hopes too high, but oh my, how my alma mater Penn State is giving us a lot to cheer about so far.

*Rich took Annie and Gray to the Corn Maze on Saturday. Behavioral issues precluded Max and I from going. :(

*I can't seem to finish a book to save my life these days. Maybe if I'd stop starting new ones...
On another sad book-related note, I'm afraid there's no way our "reading room" will be ready in time for the read-a-thon. But you know what, who cares where we'll be reading, right?

*Forgot to do a short story post yesterday, but hey, there's always next week...

Yay! More Penn State fans! We watched the game on Saturday with my brother who played for PSU back in the 70's. What a trip watching with him! Really into the game - and wasn't it a great one!

The weather here is just fantastic as well. It was actually hot the last couple of days!! But the trees are turning....and it's just gorgeous outside. My favorite time of year!!

It is glorious weather here on the Cape as well. I love this kind of weather..cool enough to dress with a sweater if needed but not to cool to have to put the heat on.

I've never been to a corn maze. They sound like fun!

take care,
Dawn

What a gorgeous picture. I'm glad you've been having such great weather!

And you're right..it's not where you're reading that matters. Are you also getting more and more excited every day?

I want to go to a corn maze! I've been wanting to go to one for as long as I can remember and they actually opened one now not too far from here...so maybe I'll actually be able to go this year.

College football has been great down here too except for that last LSU game against Florida...that was just sad :( Hope Penn State keeps it up!

And no matter where you end up reading for the read-a-thon, I know you'll have a blast! It'll be impossible not to. And I get to join in this time, yay!

The maze sounds fun! The weather sounds good too... we've been getting a lot of rain lately, which is not surprising since it's towards end of the year.

I've been working on our so-called reading room (although I'll miss the read-a-thon because of a swim meet, again). We can sit in the fat, leather chair, now! You can SEE it from the doorway! I'm so pleased and proud. :)

I've always wanted to do a corn maze!! Hope the kiddos had fun (and glad you are having such awesome weather!!). I hate to think that cold weather is right around the corner.

Wow, look at that sunshine and summer clothes. Here it's been in the 40s, rainy, with threats of snow at night when the temperature dips down. I wore mittens on my hike today!

The maze looks like fun, hope I can find one to take Katelyn and Sam to!
