ooh, me achin' back...

We were supposed to be on the northern edge of this latest storm. They said 1-3" of snow. They lied. We got about 9" overnight and it's still coming down.

But honestly, I've no business complaining. For one thing, as I begin day 7 of Rich's absence, this is only the second time we've got more than a couple inches and hence, only the second time I've had to shovel. Secondly, it was the light and fluffy type of snow. Not to mention, our driveway really isn't all that big. Yeah, and there's that thing about me really needing the exercise anyway. And finally, I absolutely love snow...so it's really no fair to bitch about it, is it?

Oh, and maybe best of all, as the boys are happily drawing and watching a Scooby Doo movie and Miss Annie has her nose buried in a book, I will feel no guilt as I go curl up with my own book and a large mug of tea. I worked hard enough for one morning...or at least that's what I'm telling myself. ;)

I love the idea of snow, but I don't know what we would actually do if we ever got any. I've had to scrape my car of ice a few times this winter, but I wouldn't even know where to get a snow shovel!! Go--Go curl up! Sounds like a fantastic idea to me!

Wow! That is a lot of snow! Of course, to someone like me who lives in a city where snow is very rare, 1 to 3 inches would have been a lot.

You do deserve some reading time after all your hard work. I say take your time. :-)

Have a great week.

Looks like we are getting a snowstorm here.... Fun stuff! I hate it when the weather channel is right. Although, when they are wrong, they are really wrong! The other night we were supposed to have 1-2 cm and we got like 10! And then Wed we are going to have a rain/snow mix. I am not enjoying this winter... We have not had flurries, it has all been storms!

Same thing with me here in SE Michigan. My city is further north of Detroit, so we weren't supposed to get much snow, maybe three inches. 7 inches and headache from trying to drive in it later....

Enjoy the book and the tea, Debi! You did earn them! And you're more than halfway through Rich's absence, so you can now count down. Did I tell you about the time Blaine came home from a long trip (he was doing a lot of traveling one summer) late one night only to see a "For Sale" sign at the top of the driveway? I still have the sign and would loan it to you if we lived closer.

Enjoy your book and tea! :)

Trish,
You never get snow?!! I think I'd go crazy!

Literary Feline,
Thanks! And I hope you have a wonderful week, too!

Kailana,
I'm not sure the weather channel ever is right, is it? :) It's been a bit of an odd winter here, too. Lots more storms than normal, but much less lake effect snow.

Kristie,
That's definitely where I lucked out...I didn't have to drive anywhere.

Jean,
Well, we're not quite half-way there yet, but getting close! I love that "for sale" story...would truly have loved to see his reaction!

Eva,
Thanks...I did! At least until Scooby Doo was over. :)

Aw, poor Debi. I wish you could send some of that snow over here. Mine has melted already :(

I hope you're having a nice, relaxing day!

Ugh, snow is pretty but I can't imagine the headache of actually having to move large quantities of it, with a shovel. Ugh, my back would be aching too!

Enjoy the tea and book!

:( I'd shovel the snow for you if I could Debi! I think I would have loads of fun doing that seeing as I've never had a reason to shovel snow in my life, lol. I think the most snow we've ever gotten here was 1 inch :/ Isn't that horrible. And I love the stuff too! Anyway, your plans for the rest of the day sound wonderful! I hope you enjoy your tea and book :)

We get snowfall maybe once or twice a year--other than that mostly just freezing rain. I don't do very well in the cold weather. :)

As much as it will make me sound like a crazy man, I had to admit being jealous when I was watching the Today show this morning and saw all the snow on the East Coast. I would love to be snowed in right now, I could use another day off work...the weekend goes by too fast! That and we have only had a smattering of snow this winter thus far which disappoints me.

Yes, I know I'm crazy.

I feel your pain, especially if I had to shovel it! I'm curled up with a good book right now: Ken Follett's sequel to Pillars of The Earth. Do you think I could remember the title?! I'm so 47!

I'm disappointed we didn't get the foot they predicted. Ended up with about 4 inches maybe (SE Mass) Sat eve snowstorms are just perfect, would have all Sunday to shovel and nowhere I have to go.

I don't know that I could shovel snow! Although it does seem like good exercise. I do think I could handle the tea and a book!

I hope you've a great weekend, Debi! The storm sounds good to me, considering we've such hot weather here! ;)

We were supposed to get 5-10 on Saturday/Sunday but it ended up turning to rain and we got very little. I think you got our share.

I think the book, and the tea sound like a lovely idea...though I wouldn't mind a little Scooby Doo either :)

take care,
Dawn
