I really ought to be ashamed of myself

After all the books that made their way into my home two weeks ago, one would think I could have exhibited a bit of self-control last week. Well, one might think that if they didn't know me anyway.

So, what couldn't I resist last week?

One for Sorrow and The Love We Share Without Knowing, both by Christopher Barzak. And the blame for both of these sits squarely on Nymeth's shoulders, thanks to these reviews. Oh, but just wait...I'm not done heaping blame on her. She's also responsible for this:

Tender Morsels by Margo Lanagan. Because of this review. This means 3 points for the lovely, but very hard on the wallet, Nymeth!

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I've almost bought this on a few different occasions. Finally just put myself out of my misery and got it.

The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides. Well, just because it's high time I read it, don't you think?

Well, I have read The Virgin Suicides... But you know what... I am getting the rest of those books too! I am just waiting for them to come in. We have good taste, huh, Debi. lol One I will own, but the others are from the library.

You got them! You won't regret it, I promise. Also, The Virgin Suicides is another all-time favourite of mine! It's indeed about time you read it :P

I haven't read The Hunger Games, but I've yet to see a single negative review.

You should know that there's an online support group for quilters with too huge fabric stashes called stashbusters or something like that. I think the cardinal rule is that you can't buy a yard of fabric until you use a yard. Or maybe you can buy a yard after you've used two. Can you tell I'm not a member of this? But perhaps you could put a similar system in place for your books in terms of not buying a new one until you've read one you already have or one from the library. Just a thought. Running and hiding now.

LOL...you think YOU should be ashamed of yourself? I just ordered 5 books from Amazon last night that I REALLY didn't need and Nymeth is at fault for 4 of them :p Gee, wonder who's going to win my bad bloggers giveaway in June, lol. She's already up to 7! Can't wait to read The Hunger Games too! Hope you enjoy it!!!

I'm so glad to see you've bought Tender Morsels as well, Debi! As for the rest of the books highly recommended by Nymeth, I've to get them the next time, very bad for my wallet, as you know! :P But still, I love all Nymeth's recommendations!!! :D

It's possible Nymeth should get a share of the royalties for Christopher Barzak's books...I ordered them, too!
And I'm just finishing the Hunger Games and it will most likely get a 5...so it seems to me you got some good books! :)

I'm usually a lurker - I've really got to stop doing that! - but I wanted to say that you definitely won't regret going for The Hunger Games. It is so good. I'm a YA librarian and I passed it along to one teen in particular - her pure joy in the story was wonderful to see. Good, good stuff. I hope you enjoy it as much.

It's hard to resist sometimes, isn't it? :-) I would really like to read Virgin Suicides too.

That Nymeth, she's terrible! ;-) As usual I'm behind on my blog reading, and had maybe 12 backlogged entries from her to read (I know, the horror, right?), and by the time I'd read all 12, I'd added no less than 6 books to my wish list (and all 12 posts weren't even book reviews, either!). It's insane! LOL.
