par for the course

Annie just arrived home from a sleepover at her best friend's. They went to see Twilight last night. Annie's take:

"It was really, really good. But not as good as the book."

Isn't that always the way?

I'm going tomorrow, and I fully expect it NOT to be as good as the book. I'm not sure I've ever seen a movie that is as good as the book. But I'm glad to hear Annie didn't think it was totally awful. I'm not sure whether I'm going to enjoy the story, or whether I'm going to enjoy Robert Pattison. LOL!

I've asked Britt to get me the book for Christmas. She already told me she wants to read it when I'm done.

The movie is never as good as the book. I don't want to see the movie until after I've read it.

take care,
Dawn

Almost always. About a Boy was just as good as the book. My opinion. :)

I was not at all disappointed in The Hunt for Red October as a movie based on a book.

Yup, sounds about right! There are actually a few where I saw the movie first and tried to read the book and ended up liking the movie better (Stardust and Big Fish come to mind), but generally...

I couldn't believe how many high school girls were at the theater last night--we were safe watching Quantum of Solace, though.

Jean,
I'm going to have to agree with you on that one! Though the other based-on-Clancy movies didn't come close to the books. Yet I still love watching them.
